My Fab Find!

You all know that I love thrift stores. I really really do. I love the excitement of not knowing what you may find. Of course, thrift shopping has it's off days. You may not find anything, particularly at the end of the week. I would say Friday, Saturday, and Monday's are not good days to go unless it's early on a Friday. Usually, because these are the days that most people go and things are picked over. How ever, during the week is a great time to go. My mom and I decided to check out one of our local thrift stores today and I couldn't be happier with what I found! Here's my find below!

These beautiful green glass compotes are most likely from the 70's. They all have a scalloped rim with a tear drop pattern around the top. I still can't believe I found this set. Of course they were a little dirty, but nothing soap and water couldn't handle. But, what you may not believe is the price I paid for these! The largest one was $3, the medium one $2, and the smallest one was $1! I know, amazing.

Want one for yourself? Check out the Etsy shop of jshanghailil and LaRella who both have one available.

Vintage- Garnish With A Lemon or Lime

Lemons and limes and vintage! What a great combination. I've decided to redo my kitchen in a lemon and lime theme. I've already got the yellow walls, now I just need the decor to go along! So in celebration of my kitchen I've put together this awesome collection of vintage items that will have you thinking about lemons and limes! All are from Etsy, of course.

This little juicer is perfect for those who love vintage, depression glass, and saving energy. Instead of plugging up that electric juicer use this one instead. Unlike your electric juicer you will not want to hide this one in the cabinet for later. It's gorgeous! Display it! From the Etsy shop of OakleafHollowVintage.

This is a beautiful and hard to find complete set of sunny yellow pyrex bowls! This is a pyrex collectors dream! These bowls are beautiful and would be so great displayed on a vintage hutch in your kitchen or dining room! From the Etsy shop of sassboxclassics.

This beautiful vintage vase will add some charm to any room in your home. Place it on the kitchen counter with fresh daisies or in your living room on the mantle. Anywhere you decide to place it would be great. From the Etsy shop of nine20nine.

This 1907 lithograph would be so lovely framed and on disply in your home. This is such a great print of lemons and limes. I love how it features a whole lemon and lime and then a slice of each. Such great detail! From the Etsy shop of rainydayvintage.

Meow! These vintage glasses are the perfect mix of lemon and lime. They feature an great yellow from with coordinating green lenses. Don't you love the cats eye shape? These are so retro chic! From the Etsy shop of thewoolgatherer.

I really love these- a lot. These vintage lemon salt and pepper shakers will add a dose of lemon-y goodness to any kitchen! They'll have you wanting lemonade every day I'm sure! From the Etsy shop of PinkKittyCrafts.

Vintage jewelry lovers rejoice! This gorgeous vintage bakelite bangle is the perfect accessory for anyone. Pair it with jeans and a tee or a sunshiny yellow skirt like the one below. It's a such a statement piece! From the Etsy shop beatomicbeauty.

This trio of yellow condiment bowls by West Virginia Glass Company are so lovely. While they are great for collecting I would definitely use them for special events such as a summer barbecue. These are from the Etsy shop of EasyOnTheEyes.

Wow! These avocado green goblets are absolutely amazing! They have a beautiful octagon shape with lovely stems. From the Etsy shop of DecoDeli.

Ooh la la, senorita! This stunning yellow vintage skirt is perfect for any lovely lady. It features beautiful white lace that just makes the yellow pop! From the Etsy shop of Thrush.

Can you say lemonade? I'm sure if I owned this vintage lemon shaped pitcher I would never serve lemonade out of anything else! Unlike your plastic pitcher you will not want to toss this one in the cabinet for later. You will want to leave it on display for everyone to see! From the Etsy shop of ModishVintage.

As always, I hope you enjoyed this feature. These shops all have some great things to offer beyond what is shown here! Have a lemon-y bright day with a lime twist of course!

Weekend Style: Vintage Love

I've decided to continue each weekend with the "Weekend Style" post. I think it's fun and inspiring as well. So this weekend rather your going to dinner with friends, a movie, the mall, or where ever throw on something vintage! Vintage clothing is beautiful. Here are some of my picks from Etsy.

Aren't these pink ankle boots hot? I think so. Straight out of the 80's, these pink stiletto ankle boots are in great vintage condition. From the Etsy shop of rwinters24, she also has these in blue and yellow!

What a great maxi dress! I love maxi dresses. This citrus orange maxi dress comes to us all the way from the 1960's. The v-neck, piping, and empire dress give it the perfect touches. From the Etsy shop of tialeyvintage.

Pearls are always timeless. This beautiful vintage clutch is covered in beautiful pearls. Perfect for an evening out with your significant other or to dress up those jeans. From the Etsy shop of NinthAvenueVintage.

This big bright green vintage necklace is so awesome. I love vintage jewelry and bright colors and they are both combined in this necklace. From the Etsy shop of NessaLand.

My favorite! I hate showing favoritism, but I am in love with these vintage shades. I have somewhat of a sunglasses fetish. I probably have 15 pair and that's not enough. I put mine on all the time. I have one really big white pair that I wear all the time, even at night sometimes. Lol. These vintage shades are huge and have rhinestones on the sides. So chic! From the Etsy shop of cloudninevintage.

Have A Bright And Happy Weekend

It's finally the weekend! WOOP WOOP! Well, on my end it's pretty drab. The weather is gray and it's so humid outside and it's raining. So, I needed a boost. I decided to do a bright and fun weekend Etsy feature. These things will definitely brighten any day of your week. Add a splash of color to your life! Have fun and enjoy the weekend. Next weekend belongs to me. My b'day is Friday!

glittersniffer on Etsy never fails to bring vibrant colors! These beautiful brightly colored eyeshadows are great for those who just want to have a little fun! Check out her shop for some great makeup!

What a fun lampwork beaded bracelet! This will def. add some cheer to your year! From the Etsy shop of pixiewillow this bracelet will match with so many different things.

I just couldn't resist this. Not only is the tutu too fun, the cutie in the pic just takes all the attention away from this bright and fun tutu. Spoil your little princess with this rainbow tutu from mom2twogals on Etsy.

Aren't these bubble earings just so much fun? And guess what, they're VINTAGE. Yep, straight out of the 80's baby! I absolutley love these, if you knew me, you would say that these earings are so me. Find these and more in the Etsy shop of dahlilafound.

And, from my own shop, these fun martini glasses. Featuring hot pink, lime green, yellow, and orange polka dots these hand painted martini glasses are sure to make any weekend a better one (or atleast the drink you put in them will). Find these and more in my Etsy shop, cms36451 (She's Chic Boutique).

Have fun and be safe this weekend!

Decorate Your Home With A Chic Vintage Feel

I love vintage. I may say that too much. Oh well, it's true. I'm honestly in love with it to be exact. If I could decorate every room in my home with vintage items I would. Well, all of my rooms have vintage items, but I would love for each one to be completely vintage one day. These beautiful items from some great Etsy sellers will add charm and character to any home. Give your home the cottage style you've always dreamed of with these lovely vintage items.

This is a very charming and beautiful vintage glass door knob that will add instant chic to any home. This would perfect on a bathroom door. I actually bought one that I'm going to use on my white screen door. This can be found in the Etsy shop of BellaDays.

I love vintage linens. They add so much charm to a dresser, bed, or end table. This delicately embroidered dresser scarf from the Etsy shop of RedHenStudios is a must have. Draped over a lovely white dresser this would give your home the perfect touch of cottage style.

Everyone needs a piece of Fenton in their home. I'm very serious. Fenton has produced some of the loveliest and most elegant pieces of glass that I have ever seen. This Fenton daisy and button pattern candy dish from the Etsy shop of AntiqueCellar will add the perfect bit of charm to your home.

If your home doesn't have atleast one piece of white furniture, it needs it. White furniture is less "heavy" than other pieces and will always give your home a cottage feel. I actually have an entire room (my studio) which is done in light blue walls and all white furniture. The shabby glass knobs give this perfectly distressed table it's perfect touch. Find this and other lovelies in the Etsy shop of PerlineDesigns.

Everyone who knows me, knows I'm a sucker for milk glass and hobnail. Which is why I love these vintage white milk glass and hobnail candle holders. Paired with light blue or pink topiary candles these would be so shabby chic. At only $10 this is a steal from the Etsy shop of rosecottageemporium.

Your kitchen needs vintage love too. If you have glass front cabinets you need these. Another beautiful Fenton item indeed. These lovely pink Fenton hobnail sherbert cups scream girlie girl. What better to serve your best girl friends in than these perfect sherberts? Find these and more vintage items in the Etsy shop of jenscloset. Jen has taste, huh?

Isn't this bedspread absolutely gorgeous? Not only is it gorgeous, but it's in excellent condition. It's chennile polka dots give such a cottage chic feel. With just the right amount of pinks and blues this kneedletufted bedspread should be on the top of your cottage style wish list. From the Etsy shop of catnapcottage, this is one of the loveliest (if not THE loveliest) vintage bedspreads on Etsy. Even better, she has 2 available!

If your wanting a vintage or cottage feel in your home, but don't have tons of money to spend check out your local thrift stores, yard sales, estate sales, as well as antique stores. Most of my vintage items have come from local thrift stores and most antique stores always have a clearance section and will sometimes take offers. Don't be shy about asking if they will take less, most likely they will and you will have some extra change in your pocket!

A Quick How-To and My Most Recent Thrift Store Find

This Weeks Thrift Store Find

As you all know, I love shopping at thrift stores. It's an addiction. I find some of the greatest things! Just this past week while on a thrift shopping "adventure" with my mama I found these great vintage cups. They are so retro and fun. Since I don't use my vintage items, I shall find a place in my home for these, just not sure where yet since my kitchen is pretty much full.

How-To Easy Jar Embellishments

I love Mason and Ball jars, mostly because of their versatility. They are great to use not only for canning food, but also for storage of small items. They are great to store buttons, ribbons, pins, embellishments, pens, markers, q-tips, and so much more. I'm using 2 of the 3 shown to hold various ribbons and the other to hold my hang tags. Since my logo for my Etsy shop She's Chic Boutique (cms36451) is a crown I decided to embellish each jar with a crown of it's own. It was simple and easy. Just follow these easy steps!

What you will need:

1. stamp or stencil (unless your a great freehand artist)

2. paint pen (I use Elmer's paint pen's they're available at Wal-Mart and come in a variety of colors)

3. jars

4.ink pad

First make sure your jar is clean and dry. Dampen your stamp on your ink pad and gently press it where you want your image, being careful not to let it slide on the glass. If you mess this part up it's ok, just wipe off the ink and start over. Once you have your image where you want it shake your paint pen and press it down a few times on a piece of scrap paper so that the paint is flowing to the tip. Now gently, GENTLY, draw over your so that the paint covers where the ink was. Allow your paint to dry, it shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes. VOILA! You now have your very own embellished jar to store your things in!

Do the tops in the same process as the glass. Doesn't this give thes jars so much personality? I also love the fact that it's done in the crown that I use in my shop. It's a constant reminder of my shop which I love.

You can see that I did the tops on all jars yet only 2 on the glass and I embellished the other with a hang tag where my other hang tags are stored. The rust on the tops also gives this a great vintage feel.

A New Year,Turning 21, and Getting Married....Just Rambling

Ok, so it's a new year. Duh. Anyway, I just feel like rambling right now. I have so much to look forward to this year. To kick it all off, I turn 21 on Jan. 16th. Woop woop! To hell with the beer and liquor store, I'm going gambling. I love to play cards, black jack and deuce particularly. Since there's no casino close by this means a road trip. Which I always love. Anyone who knows me knows "Cassie loves to ride" and I do. Not sure who all is going, but on the 17th were going to a casino that's only about an hour and a half away. I'll try to hit the jackpot, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to under the influence of strawberry daiquiris or grey goose vodka and cranberry juice, my 2 faves. Then, sometimes in Feb. Tony is taking me to New Orleans, where I've never been and it's only like 3hrs. from us. Lame, I know. I've longed to go for so long and finally I'm going. And the biggest event of the century! I'm getting married in June! We've set our date for Saturday the 13th of June. How exciting!?!?! We're going this week to look at a possible location. I want an outside wedding, but not sure that will happen. We're going to look at a country club that sits on a beautiful golf course and has a great porch and pool. Everyone in the South loves a porch. Thank God our new house has 2. :) Anyway, I will stop rambling now. Comment or not. It doesn't matter, this post doesn't hold a whole lot of significance to most. I am planning to feature some Etsy artist this week. I may step outside of handmade and do a vintage post. Look for it soon! Happy Monday!

Vintage Lovers Christmas Wish List

So many of you, like myself, love anything vintage. What better to give someone than something from days gone by. I would be more than excited to open a beautifully wrapped gift at Christmas to find anything vintage inside. From milk glass, to depression glass, to vintage clothing, jewelry, and everything in between you are sure to delight someone on your list with one of these beautiful gifts.

This beautiful 1970's Fenton candy dish is a great gift for the person who seems to have everything. The beautiful ruffled edges and hobnail design make this ruby red candy dish simply stunning. This along with other vintage items can be found in the shop of jenniesjunque on Etsy.

Right now nothing is more popular than bright out-spoken jewelry. Combine that with vintage and you get something amazing! This beautiful vintage pink beaded necklace is enough to tickle any girl's fancy. This can be found in the shop of pinkmilkvintage on Etsy and it's only $8.00! Last but not least, it comes gift wrapped! How awesome is that?

How sexy is this? Almost every woman owns a little black dress, but what about a little black halter jumpsuit? I doubt it. This super sexy chiffon jumpsuit is more than enough to put some sparkle into someones eyes on Christmas day. Or just maybe you want to look extra glamorous for that office party? If so, this is a MUST HAVE! This and so much more awesome vintage clothing can be found in the Etsy shop of tialeyvintage.

It is VERY rare to find vintage pyrex sets especially in such great condition. Well, look no futher. sassboxclassics on Etsy has some great Pyrex sets. I love the durrability of vintage pyrex. This is gorgeous set with the beautiful blue and white coordinating so well together. I don't think anyone would be hiding these in their cabinets with the "other" dishes. Instead they would be best displayed for everyone to see.

This Weeks Thrift Store Finds

Ahh, how I love thrift shopping. I think I'm addicted, seriously! I have actually stumbled upon some new thrift stores while on my way to the ones I am familiar with. I so often find myself asking "who gave this away?". Well, as the saying goes, one mans trash is another mans treasure. Only in this case it's WOman. Here's what I've found recently! Have fun looking and show me what you've found thrift shopping.
I found this awesome little compote at a Goodwill store that I so often frequent. It's a vintage milk glass compote by E.O. Brody. It has an amazing texture that is unique and not often seen on other milk glass items. I paid only $3.oo for this one.

I love pyrex and I don't come across it that often. So, imagine how I felt when I stumbled upon this petite pyrex bowl still intact with it's lid. I didn't know what I would use it for or if I ever would use it and I didn't care. I just knew I had to have it. I found this at a local Salvation Army and I paid $1.50 for it!

Milk glass is obviously as much of an obsession of mine as much as thrift shopping is. I was overly excited to find this vintage milk glass lamp. I haven't changed the shade yet, but I plan to do so soon. I found this at a Wing's of Life thrift store for $3.00.

I'm not sure who the maker of these sweet little saucers are, but he/she needs to be complimented. The blue color is so amazing on these. They are milk glass and have a silver trim on the inside and outside of the blue. There is a partial stamp on the bottom of one, but it isn't visible enough to identify a maker. I found these at my local Salvation Army for $.75 each.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I've found as much as I have enjoyed finding them and sharing them with you. I have been considering opening an Etsy vintage shop, but I am still undecided. Let me know what you think!

You Can Find Great Things in Etsy Chat!

I love chat on Etsy. The conversation is good, the people are cool, promo's are often given, and best of all you can browse great shops. While recently in the Etsy chat room (actually I'm in it right at this moment) I found some awesome items that are sure to tickle your fancy. Check them out below and go out and show these shops some loooooove!

Isn't this one hot little apron? It has an aweseome tutu look on the front and looks like a body suit on the top. I love it! This along with other aprons and tutu's can be found in the shop of georgiamarbles on Etsy.

This awesome milk glass punch bowl set and vintage apple brooch can be found in the shop of CarriersCozyCottage on Etsy. Her shop is full of vintage housewares, costume jewelry, linens, and so much more. Go by her shop and show some love.

Ok, so by now you know I'm a sucker for milk glass. This is one of the prettiest milk glass bowls I've ever seen. I love how it sort of fades from milk glass to clear. This and more vintage housewares and other vintage items can be found in the Etsy shop of reprise.

These are absolutley precious. These tiny babies are hand crafted from polymer clay by the Etsy artist TenderHeartBabies. Her shop is full of so many sweet babies like these. She even makes Christmas ornaments featuring these precious babies!

Now go out and show all of these ladies some sweet love!
